A
bout the Name:
This pen is named after Batura Sar, the 25th highest mountain on earth, the 10th highest in Pakistan, and the highest peak of the Batura Muztagh. Batura Sar forms the Batura Wall which is a continuously high part of the backbone of the Batura Muztagh, and is the western most sub range of the Karakoram range in northern Pakistan. If you wish to read more about this mountain or any others, you can read them on my pen names page.

Batura Dimensions, Features and Options:
The Batura falls in the Midi or JR size category. It has an overall length of a little under 5 3/4" with a maximum cap diameter of .60" (at the base), and a maximum barrel diameter of about 1/2". The most prominent feature on this pen would be the cap. The cap features a pair of 1mm wide accent bands that together frame the long straight clip, and helps to accentuate an otherwise bland clip. As with most of the pen styles, this pen can be made in your choice of acrylics and with either gold or silver toned clip and accent bands. While the standard pen is a cartridge/converter (C/C), it can also be ordered as a Button-filler. I've also made a version as a lever-filler and am currently working with a piston-filler system. So if you're interested in an alternate filling system, let me know.

I also offer a variety of hand-made Pen Props and Pen Buttons. You can order a Pen Prop in a material to match your pen, or any one of the wooden styles made in a variety of stained or dyed colors. The Pen Buttons are available for any of the clipless pens.

About this Pen and Material:
This material is a PREMIUM Acrylic Acetate called "Cappuccino". It's "Premium" because the process to make it incurrs a few more steps than the solid color crushed acrylics. The pattern is basically made the same as the solid color crush patterns. The patterns are made up of small "crushed" pieces of acrylic. It's made by first making a batch of solid the solid acrylic, then it's crushed up and put back into the mold. Then it's filled again with a solid color. Once it cures, you have a solid piece of material with the crushed pattern. It usually creates very vibrant colors, so it's a very popular pattern. Usually you only see it in solid colors, but recently suppliers are making them with more complex color combinations (hence the "Premium" designation).
