About the Name:
The PUTHA (pronounced "PU-the") is named after Putha Hiunchuli (also called Dhaulagiri VII). It's a mountain in Nepal and part of the Dhaulagiri Range. It lies at the west end of the Dhaulagiri II chain and is 7246M high, making it the 95th highest mountain in the world.
NOTE: If the pen style looks familiar-- it's not a NEW style. I renamed it from "Kanjut" after I found the name had a few different meanings in other languages (one of them not so nice). So I thought it would be appropriate to change the name.
Putha Dimensions, Features and Options:
This pen was a custom order from a customer with some very challenging requirements that needed to be meet. The customer wanted a pen that was: a) only 5 1/4" long, b) use a #6 nib, c) postable cap, AND d) use a full size converter. Whew! So although it may look pretty simple, there's a lot packed into this little sleeper. I guess you could say that the main features of this understated style is that I was able to pack all those features into just one pen. The Putha is fitted with a #6 nib, which can be ordered in AGS (All Gold Steel), 2-tone steel or polished steel finishs (depending on tip size). Tip are available in five sizes: x-fine, fine, medium, broad, and 1.1 & 1.5 italic. Clip finishes available are 24k gold and rhodium. Inking systems available for this pen are cartridge/converter (c/c), eyedropper (ED) or button filler. It can be ordered with a Piston inking system, but would require a slightly longer barrel.
Other items available... I also offer a variety of hand-made Pen Props and Pen Buttons. You can order a Pen Prop in a material to match your pen, or any one of the wooden styles made in a variety of stained or dyed colors. The Pen Buttons are available for any of the clipless pens. About this Pen and Material:
This material is another one of the acrylics that were used by the former Conway Stewart Pen Company (CS). CS went out of business in the latter half of 2014, but fortunately some of their beautiful material is still available through a supplier in the UK (the same country where the material is made and CS was located). Some of the material is being remade by the original manufacturer, but others will not be so are only available for a limited time.
