Green Eversharp Style Desk Pens

About these pens:
A customer ordered these Eversharp style desk pens after seeing the one I made with the magma dragon Juma (the red one with the snake in the feature image).
She wanted three pens because they were going to be gifts. The project centered around a custom logo she had engraved on the gold nibs.
While I was working on the pens, I kept thinking about the logo and how I might use it. Due to the dragon pattern I didn’t think it would stand out if it was engraved on the pens.
I made a stand to hold the other Juma pen while I was taking the photo’s, so I thought a stand would be a perfect place for the logo. I suggest it to the client and she agreed.
In order for the logo to stand out, we decided to go with an off white acrylic. After contacting the Juma manufacturer, they put me in touch with a Juma supplier in the US. The supplier had some solid ivory Juma blocks that would be large enough for the stands.
About the material:
The material is an acrylic that’s made under the brand name Juma. Juma is available online from a variety of suppliers. The manufacturer is a company called Elforyn (www.elforyn.de) and markets their material to the knifemaking industry for knife handles.
Juma is available in this dragon scale pattern and is offered in a variety of colors. The dragon Juma is also a popular pattern with home shop knifemakers for knife handle scales (scales is the term knifemakers use for the handle blanks).
The color used for the pens is called Juma Green Dragon. The material used for the stands is a solid ivory (the ivory is also available in the scales pattern). The stand material is ivory Juma, but is a solid ivory (the ivory is also available with the scales pattern).
The only problem I found with the Juma though is that Elforyn is located in Germany, and for some reason, they won’t ship to the USA. The material is available on ebay and etsy, but mostly in sizes for knife scales. So I couldn’t find the green in a suitable size. Due to the length of the pens I need long blanks so the pattern matches along the length. But you could only get lengths in large diameters, which meant a lot of wasted material. Fortunately the manufacturer put me in touch with one of their US suppliers who was able to supply me with the sizes I needed.
