Skyline Style Desk Pens

This goal for this project was to create some new pens and funnels for a vintage Wahl base a customer had acquired. He sent a few photo’s of the base and photo’s he found for the original fountain pens. Best I could determine, the fountain pens were Eversharp Skyline’s. So next, I emailed one of my contacts that specializes in vintage pens to confirm the model and then get the specifications for the original fountain pen and funnel.
The original Eversharp Skyline fountain pen had a black section. Since the customer wanted ballpoint pens instead of a fountain pens, I decided to use some black ready-made Schmidt ‘fronts’, then drilled the funnels to fit. The photo below shows an original funnel and my replica.

The image on the right shows a comparison of the original funnel with one of the new ones. The darker funnel on the left is the original funnel.
Pen and funnel dimensions:
Pens: Length 7.25″ (fronts 1.50″ / middle 2.42″ / top (including band) 3.28″).
Diameter: main section: front .40″ / middle (bulge/max) .4375″ / top .41″.
top extension: front .40″ / middle .275″ / top (tip) .18″.
Funnels: Length 2.375″ / diameter: min (top) .575″ / base (max) .68″.
