JEBs Nazca Jr. Fountain Pen

About the Nazca Jr.:

As the name implies, the Nazca Jr. is a smaller version of the Nazca. While the main feature of the full-size Nazca is its tall finial, the Jr. has a shorter finial that is more suitable for its size. The Jr. uses slightly smaller diameter threads (13mm instead of 14mm), as well as a smaller clip. The Jr. comes standard with a #5 nib, but it can be ordered with a #6 (see options and upgrades below).

The Nazca Jr. is a smaller, downsized version of the Nazca, so it carries the same name as its full size parent. The Nazca is named after the flat-top mountains of the Nazca Valley in Peru. Although Nazca is actually the name of the valley rather than the mountains, I thought it was an appropriate name for the “flat-top” style pen. Historical buffs and Sci-Fi fans will know of the famous Nazca “Lines” found scattered across the tops of the flat mountains, as well as the many odd-shaped skulls found in the region with the elongated craniums. So the exceptionally tall finial on this pen is a reference to the famous skulls, while the upgraded rings on the finial pays homage to the lines. If you want to learn more about the Nazca lines, see here: Wikipedia/Nazca lines.

The Nazca Jr. has an overall length of 5″ to 5 5/8″ capped with the short finial. While the main feature of the full-size Nazca is its tall finial, the Jr.’s finial is shorter. I think the shorter finial looks better, but if you think you’d prefer a longer finial, it can be ordered with one that’s similar to the full-size version. The uncapped length is about 4 3/8′. The maximum diameters are the cap .55″; and the barrel .48″.

The Nazca Jr., like it’s full-size parent, could be upgraded in a variety of ways. On the outside, add a few accent bands to the cap, barrel, or both. On the inside, upgrade the standard C/C inking system with a lever, button or vacumatic.

Material: As with other pens, the Nazca Jr. can be ordered in any of the materials shown or in the material of your choice. If you want to use something different but don’t know where to look, just let me know.

Clip: The pen can be ordered with or without a clip. Finishes available for the standard Jr. clip shown are nickel and 24k gold. However, you can also choose another clip style if you want something a little different (as long as the clip’s ring is a compatible size). Please inquire about what is currently available.

Cap posting: The cap posting shown on some pens is an upgrade, so if you prefer to post your cap, please be sure to let me know so this can be added to your pen while I’m shaping the barrel.

Nib: The standard nib on the Nazca Jr. is the smaller #5 steel Jowo. It can be ordered with a larger nib, but the cap length would have to be longer to compensate for the longer nib.
